The Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (Toronto Rehab) is a fully affiliated
teaching hospital of the University of Toronto, specializing in adult
rehabilitation and complex continuing care. The 530 bed hospital, which
incorporates growing outpatient services, was formed in 1998 by the
amalgamation of the former Lyndhurst Hospital, the Rehabilitation
Institute of Toronto and the Toronto Rehabilitation Centre. Through the
following six clinical programs, the hospital provides comprehensive care
to patients on both an inpatient and outpatient basis: cardiac
rehabilitation and secondary prevention, geriatric rehabilitation,
musculoskeletal rehabilitation, neuro rehabilitation, spinal cord
rehabilitation, and complex continuing care. Services to people with
Multiple Sclerosis are offered in the spinal cord rehabilitation program,
the neuro rehabilitation program and the complex continuing care program,
and are provided through inpatient, outpatient and day hospital services.
