The Multiple Sclerosis program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is a newly affiliated MS Clinic of the MS Society of Canada.  We manage MS patients at all stages of their disease.  Patients are investigated, diagnosed and offered the most currently available treatment options, and are followed on a routine basis, often in conjunction with the referring neurologist or physician.  An active clinical trial program has been established, and the clinic has been involved in some of the pivotal trials that have seen the emergence of new treatment options for patients with relapsing-remitting MS.  A full complement of diagnostic capabilities (neuro-radiology, electrophysiology) and other medical specialties are available for patients who develop multiple complications from MS (including psychiatry, bladder dysfunction, rehabilitative devices, neurosurgical).  Kathleen Carr, has been the MS program nurse at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre since 2003 and is the contact person for patients.  She facilitates patient referrals to paraclinical services (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, seating assessment, social work, and speech therapy services).  A medical referral is required.
