CILT is a
consumer-controlled, community-based disability resource centre. It
offers a range of disability-related services including: Information and
Referral, Peer Support, Independent Living Skills Training (including
self-advocacy), and Research and Service Development. The goal is to
assist persons with disabilities to live independently in the community.
CILT also manages the Self-Managed Attendance Services: Direct funding
program.
CILT also operates the Project Information Centre (PIC),
which provides a centralized database for Attendant Service providers in
Toronto. The PIC does not operate attendance services, or housing
but acts as an information and referral service, processing,
maintaining, and updating consumer applications for them.
The PIC works with three categories of Attendant Services: (a)
Supportive Housing (SSLUs and Shared Living), (b) Outreach Attendant
Services, and (c) Transitional/Life Skills Programs.
