Sailing Association of Ontario
"Sailing can help you to
build confidence and enhance independence."
The Disabled Sailing Association of Ontario (DSAO) is an
organization founded by, organized by and run primarily by people with
disabilities who are uniquely attuned to the needs and desires of our
members. Many of our members, such as Danny McCoy who represented Canada in
the Paralympics 2000, are former athletes who are suffering from the effects
of a stroke, multiple sclerosis, paraplegia or quadraplegia. This fun filled
leisure activity is for everyone regardless of their level of disability or
experience in sailing. Our programming focuses on independent sailing
programs for adults and children with disabilities. We have a fleet of five
Martin 16 Sloops, sponsored through corporations and individuals interested
in
disabled
sailing. QQDSP offers CYA Learn to Sail courses. Membership is open to
everyone and a small membership fee covers the sailing year from May 1 to
April 30 bringing all the benefits of the DSA to you. Visit our web site for
a comprehensive over view of all our programs and services.

Expressive Art (Gilda
Grossman)
Many issues common to MS, such as changes in lifestyle, coping with daily
routines and shifts in relationships are often difficult to express
verbally. Expressive art is a means of addressing these and other issues in
a non-verbal and non-threatening way. This process is gentle and respectful,
while enhancing your creativity.
Gilda Grossman is a qualified
facilitator and has specialized in working with individuals who have chronic
illnesses. She leads expressive art groups for the MS Society.
